Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor’s “Gamer” (its the new, now official title, we’re told — formerly “Game”, then “Citizen Game”, but now just “Gamer”) stars Gerard Butler as … well, I’m really not sure what the movie is about. Apparently, from what I can tell, he’s some kind of real person who is controlled by a gamer (like you and me) through a game setting. It’s from the guys who did “Crank”, so it’s gonna be cool, that much is a given. Lionsgate has now released the first poster for the film, called a “motion poster” below. Run your mouse over it to see the crazy effects. The less fancy schmancy poster after that.

A Star Trek Review
Let me say with a complete lack of humility that I am uniquely qualified to review “Star Trek” for the following reason. It was the first television program I ever watched. “Star Trek” was imprinted on me like a baby duck gets imprinted on its mother. I watched the show during its original run, via an antenna on a small trailer pointed vaguely toward Buffalo. I watched it with my grandfather. Something about the show was different and I was different after watching it.
Extended 4-Minute Terminator Salvation Trailer, Two New Clips
Two minute trailers? 30-second TV spots? Forget about it. McG and company are going full bore with a 4-minute trailer that reveals even more plot and new footage. Granted, a lot of the footage we’ve already seen before in various snippets and videos put out by the studio, but there’s something to be said with seeing all (or most) of them in one spot. I’m a bit concerned about the concentration on Sam Worthington’s Marcus character, though. John Connor is the star here. McG better not be trying to pull some crap by messing with the established mythology too much, that’s all I’m saying.
Robert Downey Jr. Awaiting The Action In Iron Man 2
As you may be aware, “Iron Man 2″ filming is underway in California. Some pictures are starting to leak out and we have an excellent one here of Robert as Tony Stark in his new Iron Man armour taking a little break between punishing the evildoers. The new armour looks chunkier. I think I liked the original a bit better. Thanks Slashfilm.
District 9 Teaser Trailer Uncensored
As you may remember, we recently brought you Neil Blomkamp’s District 9 trailer here at ScifiCool. However, that trailer was without English subtitles for the alien and due to the horrifying nature of the alien’s appearance there was a blur placed in front of “the visitors” face or maw or whatever it is. A new trailer has surfaced that hides nothing. The Peter Jackson produced District 9 is about a group of bug like star travelers that are forced to live in segregation because of their lack of Ewok level cuteness. Only adorable aliens can live among us! Thanks slashfilm.
J.J. Abrams Interview Video
Good Day New York has a nice interview with J.J. about the big “Star Trek” opening tomorrow. He goes into some detail on the selection of Chris Pine and his feelings about William Shatner’s feelings about not being in the movie. I like that a real Star Trek fan is doing the interview. Thanks to reader Rowdy for the tip.
Robert Rodriguez No Longer Directing Predators?
As we know, “Predators” found itself a screenwriter. Alex Litvak, who previously penned Medieval, is working feverishly on a prequel and probably rebooty, “Predators”. BloodyDisgusting is now saying that Robert Rodriquez will not be directing and that they are looking for someone else to wave around the megaphone. Robert will still be producing.
Kirk On Kirk Action
Captured live on film we have the first meeting of the Kirks, Chris Pine and William Shatner. It’s a pretty cool moment for you Trekkie’s out there. I misted up a bit. They were perfect gentlemen. Thanks slashfilm.
Deadpool Movie Confirmed
Deadpool was among the few interesting things in the “Xmen Origin: Wolverine” movie released last week. Despite the fact that he played a god in the movie, able to bend the laws of physics at will, he was a cool and funny character.
New Transformers 2 Robot Character Posters
It’s hard to believe that it’s been less than two years since the first “Transformers” came out, and in less than two months, the second one will be out in theaters. Wow. Where have the time gone? Anyways, the sequel is coming next month, and we have three new character posters for ya. Three robot character posters, that is.
Eric Bana On Losing Conciousness Nero Style
Eric Bana, who plays bad guy Romulan crazoid Nero in “Star Trek” opens up on some behind the scenes info, including a passionate display of apoplexy!
I’m curious about your movements in character. You’re very aggressive and strong, did you come up with any of those reactions and jumps yourself or was it all planned out?
Terminators Invade Toronto Subway Station
Dear readers, our worst fears have been realized. While on his morning commute, after the 20 mile dog sled run through the wilderness outside Toronto, a Canadian man descended into the subway system, only to face the metal devil himself, a series T600 Terminator, sans human flesh accessory, amped and armed to annihilate.
Classic Trek: Kirk vs. the Lizard Man
Endy’s Onion post got me thinking about what made the Original Star Trek show so great. It’s scenes like this. Kirk vs. a man in a Lizard costume. It’s two minutes of hilarity, genius, and downright good times.
New Pandorum Poster Continues the Creep Factor
The tagline for Christian Alvart’s “Pandorum” goes like this: “Don’t fear the end of the world. Fear what happens next.” Which would seem to indicate that the film is post-apocalyptic in nature. This would actually explain a whole lot when taken in context with the trailer and these creepy posters for the movie that have surfaced. The latest poster continues adding to the film’s overall creep factor, making it, without a doubt, one of my must-see films.
Rodriguez’s Predators Reboot Gets a Writer
It’s not Predator, it’s Predators! (Insert dramatic music.) So it looks like Austin’s own Robert Rodriguez has finally stopped talking about all those wonderful movies he plans to direct, and will actually get down to directing one of them. Happily for us, that movie seems to be a reboot/sequel to “Predator”, which is currently going by the title of “Predators”. Because, one presumes, there will be more than one of the dreadlocked intergalactica badasses to contend with.
