My hero William Shatner and the current holder of the coolest director alive J.J. Abrams plus “Star Trek” cast were invited to a horse show that Bill was putting on down California way. There was much merriment. Shatner and Abrams demonstrated excellent Federation style diplomacy. Here’s the video to prove it. Thanks Shatner Project.

Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus: The Day Of The Tenticle?
In the wonderful Japanese tradition of thrilling oversized action and thrilling oversized acting comes this epic mini budget story of every mariner’s darkest nightmare and I don’t mean the cast. Debbie Gibson AND Lorenzo Lamas. How great is that? A giant Octopus from Captain Nemo’s personal hell and a giant, giant, giant shark, battle it out for oceanic supremacy! The shark bites the Golden Gate Bridge! We’ve got the footage. Brace yourselves. Thanks Cinematical.
Lucas Reacts to Star Trek’s Box Office Success
Apparently the bearded one is none too happy about Star Trek taking the box office crown, and possibly knocking down his Star Wars to second place when it comes to viable sci-fi franchises. Check out what George has sent his minions to do. It ain’t pretty.
Two Behind-the-Scenes Videos from Terminator Salvation
That’s right, folks, it’s raining “Terminator Salvation” promos. With just a week to go before the movie opens, Warner Bros. is really flooding the net with goodies. This time it’s two more behind-the-scenes video clips from the movie, showing quite a bit, actually. One is about four minutes long, and the other is even longer at around seven minutes. You actually see a lot of plot, and it’s very cool to see the behind-the-scenes stuff without a lot of talking heads telling you what’s going on.
Dollhouse Season 1 DVD Cover Art and Specs
FOX is still keeping mum on whether it’s going to renew Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse for a second season or not, and at this point, well, it’s not looking so good, Whedon fans. But whether Dollhouse comes back or not, the first full season of the show will be arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on July 28 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, and we have the cover and full specs for the disk set below.
Thundercats Fan Trailer Whets Appetite
It is certainly one of the most anticipated films and one of a slew of productions digging into the nostalgia factor that have been quite successful as of late. Being one of the millions of 20 to 30 somethings holding their breath to see one of their favorite 80′s cartoons come to life, I have to say that I’ve been itching to see a trailer for this thing ever since it’s announcement.
An Early Review Of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road
The Road, as we have reported, has a release date (Oct 16th). The Road is not an easy book to read and it is likely not an easy movie to watch. It has been delayed and many feared the movie, starring Viggo Mortensen, was going to be a disappointment. Well, Tom Chiarella from Esquire has seen it and like Mikey, he likes it. He likes it a lot.
Lost Season 5 Finale Preview Clips
Jack and a bunch of Lostees are trying to blow up the island by using a nuke or some such in Lost’s Season 5 finale episode. Look, I don’t pretend to know what the heck is going on here. The last time I saw an episode of Lost, people were running away from some smog monster or such. Now they’re trying to blow up the island. And there are a bunch of new people I’ve never even heard of doing stuff I don’t get. It’s Lost. You either get it, love it, or you don’t, and you end up with muddled posts like this one.
William Gibson’s Neuromancer Cast News
William Gibson is a Sci-Fi stud. He’s great. There, I got that off my chest. He has had some terrible luck with movie adaptations of his work. Johnny Mnemonic was troublesome to say the least. He has had his great novel “Neuromancer” in development since the dawn of time and so far, people have been chickening out of making it.
Terminator Salvation’s PG-13 Rating
In the wake of having debunked the notion that he was under pressure to make the latest installment in the Terminator saga less of a bloodfest than perhaps it ought to be, esteemed film director McG recently came to the defense of the PG-13 rating.
Preview Clip for NBC’s The Listener
In NBC’s new show The Listener, a young paramedic discovers he has telepathic powers, and instead of using it to easedrop on his neighbors or hit on that very hot blonde woman at the bar, he decides to use his powers for good and, one presumes, solve crimes and what have you. I would have used it to pick up the hot blonde at the bar first, then solve crimes, but that’s just me.
Philip K. Dick’s Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said Headed to Big Screen
Philip K. Dick is still a popular man in Hollywood. And why not? Pretty much every single one of his stories that have made it onto the big screen have been hits. Sure, most of them don’t resemble the original stories when all is said and done, but the killer premise is what sells them to the audience. The latest Dick story to get the big-screen treatment, courtesy of The Halycon Company (the same folks behind the “Terminator Salvation” movie) is “Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said”, the story of celebrityhood, assassinations, and other cool sci-fi stuff.
The William Shatner Scene That Wasn’t
Big Bill wasn’t in Star Trek. I have mixed feelings about this. Or I did. Before I saw the movie I was doubtful that William could be incorporated into Star Trek without the cheese coming along with him. It would have been happy cheese no doubt (isn’t all cheese happy cheese?) but I was ready to leave some of the shlock behind when I went to see J.J. Abram’s version of the Trek.
A Nerd Eye View Of The Science In Star Trek
While staring blissfully with my mouth open like a slack jawed yokel during my IMAX viewing of “Star Trek” last Thursday, I paused from time to time to sport a Spock like eyebrow lift at some of the, let’s say “fascinating”, science on display in the movie.
Terminator Salvation Clip: Harvester 7-Eleven Attack
Looks more like “Transformers” than “Terminator” was my initial reaction upon seeing the giant Terminator Harvester robot via some concept drawings. The film’s trailer has since been released, and I still don’t dig the look of the Harvester. I don’t get why Skynet needs such a huge friggin robot. Seems very cumbersome and not all that good for going around crushing humanity. But hey, you can’t deny that watching Marcus (the robot guy who doesn’t know he’s a robot played by Sam Worthington) and Kyle Reese (played by young Anton Yelchin, recently of “Star Trek”) fight the Harvester isn’t cool, cause, you know, it is. Here’s a long Harvester clip from the movie, including some behind-the-scenes stuff about the making of said scene.
